Furniture Sales Associate

$18–$22 an hour to start, plus commission and bonuses.
Full-time · Indianapolis (east side) · In person
Experience preferred but not necessary.

We are a family owned furniture and mattress store on the east side of Indianapolis, and we have been here more than 15 years. The family that opened the doors still works the floor. That is most of what you need to know about how this place runs.

We are looking for one more person to help customers on the showroom floor.

About the pressure — there is not much

A lot of furniture sales jobs are commission only. That means the person greeting you at the door is thinking about their rent, and you can feel it the second you walk in. We do not run our store that way. You start at $18–$22 an hour whether we are slammed or it is a slow Tuesday, and commission and bonuses come on top of that. Nobody here is going to push you to close, and we do not want you pushing customers either. People buying a sofa or a mattress are spending real money on something they will live with for years. They can tell when they are being worked, and they do not come back.

What actually works here is simpler: be around, be helpful, know the product, and let people take their time.

What you would do all day

Say hello when someone comes in and figure out what they are actually looking for
Walk the floor with them — show them how a recliner works, what is inside a mattress, what fits a room their size
Write up the sale, set up delivery, and explain financing and warranty in plain English
Answer the phone and the questions that come in through the website
Follow up after the sale, because that is where repeat customers come from
Help keep the floor clean, tagged and looking right

Who we are looking for

Somebody comfortable walking up to a stranger and starting a conversation
Reliable. You show up, on time, every shift.
Weekend availability — Saturdays and Sundays are when furniture sells
On your feet most of the day, and able to help move a piece when it is needed
18 or older, legally able to work in the US

Looking for open minded people willing to learn and grow in the furniture industry.
